We were referred to Derek by another business consultant and since then have tapped into his experience in a number of ways. Initially we began using the Disc Assessment to better understand the strengths of some of our key people, and then used them for selection of new employees. At a recent AGM he presented the Disc Assessments for fifty of our managers and their spouses and the seminar helped expand the understanding of the reports. Most recently we have used the benchmarking process in hiring to a key position and in doing so were able to better understand the type of person needed. Candidates were even ranked! A few years ago I was at a place in my education where I felt very lost and unsure of what I wanted to be working towards in terms of my future career. My Company has been working with Derek and the Disc Profiling System in evaluating hires for the last two years. I find it to be an invaluable tool. It is quick and easy to complete online. The assessment serves as a prioritization for the interview process and a check and balance system against the traits I seek in a candidate I am considering. After reviewing the reports following the hiring of an employee, I find the key personality characteristics are fairly accurately reflected. I've used DISC assessments as a vital tool in my last three hiring decisions. All three new employees are performing at high levels.
We also had assessments done on ten key employees. Then we discussed the communication styles of each personality. We looked at how someone with a Direct,Influencing,Steady or Compliant personality views other personalities, and how to modify communication styles to get better results.
I made a list of duties that each employee performs and considered the traits needed to successfully carry out those duties. We found a way to work around weeknesses and focus on strengths. Duties between four employees were re-assigned based on their assessments.
I recommend adding this tool to your hiring decisions.
